Taylor Swift is Taylor Alison Swift. Taylor Swift was born on December 13, 1989 in West Reading, Pennsylvania. Swift has been a singer/songwriter from the pop/country genre for more than 20 years. Swift's stories of romance and love at first sight have gained her widespread popularity in the 21st Century. Swift started to exhibit an desire to work in the music industry as early as age. Her career progressed rapidly through the play of kids and her first appearance on stage in crowds of people. In 2011, Swift aged 11 at the time, performed The Star-Spangled Banner during a Philadelphia 76ers' basketball match. Following that, she began to write her own songs. Swift was inspired by artists in country music such as Shania Twain, the Dixie Chicks as well as the Chicks to come up with original songs which reflected the alienation she felt at 13 years old. Swift moved from Pennsylvania together with her parents, to Hendersonville, Tennessee when she was 13 years old to dedicate more time to contacting the country music labels.
